Rural Life

From marriage and child birth to issues of survival and death, drawings of rural life and livelihoods depict the rural environment in the perspective of those who live there. Problems of illness, water scarcity, and economic constraints also surface in the rural drawings.

In many villages, there exists a strict hierarchy in the authority of the village elders. The drawing sessions and workshops hope to engender a democratization of internal processes in order to give a voice to the ordinary villager and the marginalized in deciding the priorities and needs of their village.
