Ambika Joshi , NIFT, New Delhi, Semester 4, Integrated Term Project with Vikalpdesign, March - May, 2008

Ambika Joshi took up the "Branding" of this Sanitary Napkin as a part of her Integrated Term Project. The assignment was to brand the reusable sanitary napkin and target this product to a completely new audience - urban women. The challenge lay in selling this product to a group of consumers used to buying disposables.

The design tasks were :

1. Branding for the product (name, logo, identity)
2. Generate awareness about an eco friendly product and promote its use
3. Design packaging
4. Design a product information pamphlet.

The product was named GAIA, meaning Earth Goddess.

The inspiration : Every woman is a goddess. The women using this product is therefore an earth goddess. (The napkin when it disintegrates goes back to earth!)
